It's not easy being Smallville's only goth.
Happy Halloween (Mock me, Rosie.  I dare ya!)
So Li is up and running.  Check out her mind.  Spooky.  Vice City is much much fun.  Motorcylces rock!

10/28/02
Police!  Freeze!  Get that guy!  You are risking your life!
GTA: Vice City comes out tomorrow, so I'll be a shut in on those days that I'm not out.
So twas a busy weekend.  Friday, a bunch of us went to see Matter (or is it now Spiker?) at Cutter's in Mo-town.  It was a great night, the band was good, the company was good.  Sean and I took a Dunkin Donuts break.  Then around 1ish I dropped Tricia off at home (Cathy was sick, alas) and went home myself.
Saturday, I schlepped all day and in the evening went to Kat's for Ed's going away party.  Ed is moving to Hong Kong, you see.  He will be missed, but we both agreed that it is best for us to be on opposite sides of the planet to preserve the cosmic balance.  The party was fun, hung out with many people, including Li n Da gusta, blanktom, Kevan,  Josh n Carol, Brian and Jess, Tom (another one), Scott (my roomie, hadn't seen him in a while), Jen, Bob (stained the sofa...sigh), Erin, Patty n Sis.  Met some people like John (who looks like Zak's friend Ed, uncannily so) and others.  Finally crashed around 3 or 4, not sure due to that daylight savings thing.
The next day, I awoke and chatted with Kat's mom for a bit.  Then Kat and Ed got up and we watched Ed Wood's Jail Bait.  It was musingly bad.  Then Lin Da Gusta joined us and we ended up watching The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires.  It was like a vampire kung-fu movie and it had Peter Cushing.  But what made it even better was that we watched it on Telemundo so it was in Spanish.  Then Li, Da Gusta and I went to see Bowling for Columbine with Ross and his friend whose name I forget cause I'm a bad, bad person.  I think I must apologize and skip the review on this one.  the movie was great and moving and I highly recommend it.  It's just late and I don't want to deal with it right now.  Anyway, Then I dropped Da Gusta off at the PATH station in Hoboken and Li and I went to Arthur's to grab some grub.  Po met us there and we said goodbye to Li (it's like a friend relay) and we met Zak at Maxwell's for The Reverend Horton Heat.  The show was amazing.  They played great.  The crowd went nuts when Jimbo laid down with his bass (the instrument, upright bass, not the fish) and the Reverend jumped up on it and played his guitar.  This happened twice.
Oh well, I'm beat.  sorry it aint so enthusiastic.  Well have a good week and try to keep those star ratings down.

I saw the shit out of it!
This is ridiculous.
And here's the response.

10/22/02
Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, 'Well. At least I'm not dead.'
I got my free stickers today!
Nothing else to report.

10/21/02
Have you seen blanktom lately?
The website or the Tom?
I think I'm spoiling all you with these updates.  Just goes to show you how exciting my weekend was, see I did all my weekend stuff midweek.
Well as far as blanktom goes, I believe it's dead.  Unless someone else writes updates and sends them to Tom.  See Tom himself told me that the only reason he keeps blanktom up is that he can't remember how to spell babakganoosh, so he tells people to go to blanktom and follow the link here.  What people?  Are there people out there whom I don't know?  Are you reading this?  Stop nodding, I can't see you, numbnuckle.  Email me or sumptin.  Damn, maybe I should figure out how to make a guestbook.  Any suggestions?  I can't hear you either, just click one of the various email things around the page.
So this weekend was quite tame.  Friday, I hung out with Sean in the evening.  Saturday I visited the parental units and the sibling unit.  Spent the afternoon there.  They bought me Chinese food.  Curry chicken...sigh.  Then came home and watch Monsters Inc, which I had borrowed from them.  Most amusing.
Sunday, I did nothing all day and in the evening, I watched Bride of the Monster, an Ed Wood movie starring Bela Lugosi, to celebrate Bela's birthday.

**Support Stephen Baker**
Sun Nov 10th.  an all day event called NY Rocket Ball featuring Anathema Device at Downtime, NYC.  tickets need to be purchased in advance preferably from the Device.

As an added bonus, according to Baker, there is a Contempt that very same evening.  Come see the bands, then break for some food, then dance your little tushies off all night long.  Don't forget to call in sick for work on Monday.

Now enjoy some punk rock kittens.

Beware! Beware of the big green dragon that sits on your doorstep. He eats little boys... Puppy dog tails, and BIG FAT SNAILS... Beware... Take care... Beware!
Happy birthday Bela!
I was going to use a different quote until I remembered that it was his birthday.  I realized that quotes from real life are usually more amusing than movie quotes.  Just check out In Passing... to see. I think I'll put that over in links too, just because I can.  Not much else going on.  Rosie sent me another comment, then requested it be put up.  she's an odd one, she is. She has some obsession over Eight Legged Freaks.  It comes out soon on DVD.  Hmmm... perhaps it's time to reenact some scenes from Clockwork Orange.  Where's my eyelid clamps.

In a room full of 'That Guy' you're 'That Guy'.
My dream has finally come true.

10/18/02
Do you think that death could possibly be a boat?
Hey, figured I'd spice things up by adding random quotes from movies, TV, books, and real life at the beginning of each update.  Now on to it.
SHAME SHAME SHAME on all of you for letting Stephen and the band down.  I hope all your collective heads hang low.  And you are filled with jealousy as I sport a brand spankin new Atomic Box patch!
So Tuesday I went into the city to do some work, it was frustrating, but I did what I could.  I was meeting Li after work and had some time to kill (Why?  I had to kill something and time is a convenient victim.) so I headed across town to Grand Central Station since I'd never been there before.  On the way I stopped at a McDonalds that had a doorman.  But was brought back to reality when all they had to drink was lemonade, raspberry iced tea, orange soda and orange juice.  I went to Grand Central and walked around for a bit.  It was neat and huge inside, unlike Penn Station which while big, has normal sized ceilings.  Grand Central has the big central room had walkways over other walkways and such, it was neat, but I already mentioned that.  I then took the subway uptown and walked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  I hadn't been there since high school and wanted to see it again.  I went in, checked my bag, but when they said the suggested admission was $12, I  felt to  bad not to pay even though I could've used the funds elsewhere.  so in I went, and immediately entered the Egyptian art wing.  Now this was cool.  They actually have one of the original scrolls of the book of the dead for Imhotep.  I'm not sure if it is THE Imhotep who designed the first pyramid or someone else named Imhotep.  I'm thinking the latter.  Lauren would probably know, she's a nigh Egyptologist.  But I wandered in there for a while and ended up at a temple that was transported completely from Egypt and reconstructed in the museum.  I sat there for a bit, then asked someone the time.  It was 3:30.  I had spent one hour in the Egyptian wing, which is one quarter of the first floor and there are two floors.  Now I had an hour and a half to see the rest of the museum.  I wandered into the American wing, ended up going upstairs and seeing the European art.  Many artists that I have never heard of had paintings there, but I did see some of El Greco's work that I was familiar with.  I then wandered through sculptures from Cyprus and checked out the Asian art, specifically Chinese.  There were some good things there, including a room made up to look like a Chinese garden/temple.  it reminded me of the Summer Palace in Beijing.  Again I rested here, finally getting up and heading to check out Islamic art.  This was also cool.  Many rugs and some ancient middle eastern statues and such.
At this point I had to leave so I gathered my bag and headed over to Li's.  I got there, waited a little bit for her, we went inside, I said hi to Jaws.  Then we called ROSS and headed over to Rupali for dinner.  Can't beat half  price Indian food.  I forget what what I had was called, but it was yummy.  Dan met us there whilst we were eating.  We then left, ROSS reluctantly said goodbye, and Li, Dan and I went to Brooklyn to see Jello Biafra.  Now for those of you who don't know, Jello was the singer of the Dead Kennedy's back in the day.  It was a good show, spoken word performance by the way.  He discussed current events and politics of course and it was quite humorous and informative. I recommend that anyone go see it, with the exception of conservative republicrats which probably wont get it.  Then at 2AM we went back to Li's, well Dan went home, and it was time to loose consciousness.
The next day I awoke with Jaws at my feet and Da Gusta heading out the door.  Li got up and got ready for work and took off.  My train left later so I channel surfed, cleaned up cat vomit, got ready and left.  I dropped the key off at Li's place of employment, went to Penn Station and caught the delayed train home.  Had to switch over in Dover  (That could be a train song) and waited in the cold rain for another delayed train for about 40 minutes.  Got home relaxed etc.  Amusingly, I called the club to make sure the band was playing.  the guy said that they weren't on the list.   so I called Baker, by way of Da Gusta and found out that they were planning on being there.  It was basically the exact opposite of what happened with St. Eve (A side note to that is that Kerry, guitarist for St Eve and singer for Anathema Device, thought that the St Eve show was next week.) Went out to meet some people to eat.  Then headed to Clifton without any of you losers to see Anathema Device.  Baker was there, and he gave me an Atomic Box patch.  he also told me that he's probably gonna sell Atomic Lunch Boxes...oooooooo....  The show was great, they even got a new drummer finally.  They sounded fantastic, the sound was mixed well, and Kerry was dead on.  Hung for a bit after the show, found from Stephen and Kerry that there may be a new Contempt coming next month.  Plus an all day music fest featuring the Device on Nov 10. Be there or...eh, who am I kidding, you wont go.

OK, twas a long update, but it's been a busy week.  Now back to work for me or something.

10/14/02
OK, so you want to know the joy that was my week, or weekend, since nothing really happens during the week.  Except for this coming week, which will be down right busy.  Anyway...
Friday I hung out with Sean and against my money saving judgment, we went to El Coyote...mmmmm....Yummers.  We then just kind of hung out all night, which we hadn't done in a while so there was a coolness factor.
Saturday was again a lazy day until the evening when I went to D-mo's to play Zak's DnD game.  Again the fun was pouring in.
Sunday, In the afternoon, I went to see The Transporter with Sean, Giner, and D-mo.  Then We hung out until D-mo left and Sean Giner and I got some cookies and ice cream.  And that's about that.

*Movie Review*
This was an entertaining movie.  It oscillated between smart and just plain ridiculous.  Examples, there was a fight in a bunch of grease (just go see it) and the main character used bicycle pedals on his feet so he wouldn't slide around.  On the other hand at one point two cars crashed on the highway which resulted in a fireball that would have made the Denville Fire Department cringe.  The character Frank Martin, played by Jason Statham (AKA Turkish from Snatch) was well thought out and Lai played by Qi Shu was done well as welly well well.  This movie does avoid many bad action movie clichés and is worth seeing.  If you're into action movies that is.  If not, well then you'd probably hate this.

Well, in other news, this Tuesday I'm going to see Jello Biafra somewhere out in Brooklyn.  Not sure exactly where or when, but Li knows...I hope...or I could look it up and find that it's at The Warsaw. Hmm...maybe Drew, Lewis and Oswald will be there.  Also, this Wednesday, don't forget to

Here is my C.Y.B.O.R.G. designation...well mostly.  They only do up to 11 letters, so I'll do it in two.

I had a dream last night, which reminded me to check out Dave Brockie's homepage and I found out that DBX will be playing at CBGB's in NY on Dec 8.  Woooo....I am so there!  Hopefully he'll keep his pants on this time though.  Ugh!

10/9/02
Leif Erikson Day!!!  Hooray!  Get your longboats ready and let's go a-viking!
I had a dream...but it was way too weird even for me.  It involved me killing an evil demon Dan Aykroyd with a magical knife.  I'm not sure I really want to remember it.  Eh, what the hell...
Anyway, I was thinking that, if I ever got the chance to work on a new development, I would name all the streets after places in Mordor.  Barad-dur Place, Orodruin Drive, Cirith Ungol Road, Gorgoroth Way, Morannon Street...You get the picture.  Or maybe I'm just crazy.  Maybe next time Dan Aykroyd should just kill me.  Maybe I'll just stop now before it's to late.

10/8/02
OK, I'm back.  Last night, apparently there were server issues, but those got cleared up.  Thanks Trish for letting me know.  And Congrats on your success!!!  I wont say it here, so that you can tell people, but woohoo!
So where was I? Oh yeah, CDs.  Well since I'm at work now, working very hard (Shhhhh...Don't tell) I do not remember exactly which ones I got, but I've listened to most of them, except for the two I bought for other people, and I enjoyed.  Elyzium and I went to a diner to eat and enjoyed.  There was much enjoyment going around you see.  I then dropped her off and proceeded to Bob's party at the AB&G (she was more than welcome to come, she was tired).  There I met Li n Da Gusta.  We were joined by Bob, his girlfriend whose name I forget, Kat, Ed, Patty (AKA Broccoli girl), Tom (AKA The guy who never updates his website that lazy bastardo), Scott, Jack, Jen, ROSS, and two other people I didn't know, and maybe others that I forgot.  I was poor, so all I had was iced tea, but it was fun and a good redemption for that one birthday bob had <shudder>.  In the wee hours of the morning, what just happened to be Jen's birthday, we went home.  Well to our separate homes, not all to one home.  Well except me and Scott, but we're roommates, but we took different cars and didn't go together.
So on Saturday, I putzed around all day, playing Civ 3 and stuff. I also watched Cruel Intentions, which was quite entertaining.  well entertaining enough to keep me watching the whole thing even though USA seemed to be having brightness problems during the broadcast.  Then in the evening, I went to see Red Dragon with Sean and Brian.  Heh, boy was that good.  the again I returned home in the wee hours of the morning.
Sunday, There was much putzing done as well as some Civ 3 and I ended up watching Frequency on TV.  Yet another good movie.  In the evening I flew (almost literally) to ROSS and Jack's to watch Angel with Celestina and Corey (and of course ROSS and Jack).  And again with the wee hours return trip.

*Movie Review*
Well, what can I say?  This was a great movie.  Anthony Hopkins has recovered the intensity he had in silence of the Lambs but lost in Hannibal.  Ralf Feinnes was great as Hannibal's new fan and Ed Norton was good as always.  The movie was intense and well acted.  The characters were done well as well.  Francis Dolarhyde was an intriguing killer, both shy and vicious.  See this movie.  tom, you see it too, even though you do not have the white dragon.

Hi.  How are you?  That's good, well except for the foot thing.  I had a fun weekend.  You want to hear about it?  Well, I'll tell you anyway.
Friday, I went out with Elyzium for dinner, but we got sidetracked by Borders and The wiz's going out of business sale.  But who could resist 10 CDs for $60?  I obviously couldn't.
Ah, company has arrived.  This will have to wait till another time.  Enjoy!

10/3/02
Ok, everyone should now go check out the new Two Towers Trailer.  Compliance is mandatory.

So, my obsession over Invader Zim got me mention on the Bob the Angry Flower site!  Check out my nanosecond of fame.  But you should be checking the site out anyway because Bob just rocks!
