There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way
Hello all, or some, or none, or maybe even nun.
Well, hope you weren't expecting anything spectacular, because aside from the MvM show sat night, nothing really happened this weekend, and we even missed half the show.  I got some pics of it and will get them up...eventually.
Other than that and some D&D in which we all died, much to Zack's dismay, I pretty much did nothing all weekend except watch Dead Like Me and Run Ronnie Run (Ironically, DLM had an episode with a character named Ronnie Dobbs).  DLM, was cool, i really liked it and hope to catch some whenever the next season starts.  RRR was amusing with some really funny parts and some dumb parts, much like most comedies.  I reccomed it to any fan of COPS or Mr. Show.

Notices for October:
Oct 1st:  Premiers of Angel and Smallville!!
Oct 11th:  Anti-social Music Show at CAMI Hall (Which is across from Carnegie Hall)
Oct 17th: Contempt at Remote Lounge (both floors!!)
Oct 18th: onelinedrawing in Hoboken at SUMAC
Oct 28th:  The Weakerthans at Knitting Factory
Oct 31st: Halloween...duh.

Here is your weekly pic and wav.  Enjoy.

So how long do I wait to call?
A day.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow, then a day.
Yeah.
So two days?
Yeah, I guess you could call it that, two days.
Definitely, two days is like industry standard.

Crap.

9/23/03
these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of.
So, you can get the info for the MvM show here.

9/22/03
Well, it's time to celebrate your birthday, it happens every year
We'll eat a lot of broccoli and drink a lot of beer
You should be good and happy that there's something you can eat
A million people every day are starving in the street

So, tis a big birthday weekend.
Most importantly, today is Stephen Notley's birthday.  So go wish him a happy birthday!
On top of that, it is Bilbo and Frodo Baggins' birthday, if you are geeky like me.
And, yesterday was Stephen King's birthday.  Ooo...spooky.
Anyways, So Friday was hanging out with friends.  It basically involved me going to Tom's, then us going to Rita's for Italian ices, then going to a bar, to meet Po, Jen and Mike followed by Goostah.  Then Tom, Goostah and I went to the liquor store and Taco Bell, then back to Jen's where there was Soul Calibur and me doing some napping.
Saturday involved hanging out with Sean, Brian and D-mo and going to see Underworld, which was thoroughly enjoyable and might merit a sequel depending on how the lawsuit turns out.  After that we got some Chinese (food, not people) and we were joined by ROSS and there was Halo to be had.
Sunday ROSS and I headed up to Woodstock (yes THE Woodstock) to go to see an H. R. Giger exhibit in one of the galleries up there.  It was way cool and I got some pictures.
Afterwards we walked around a bit and then went to a great place to eat, who's name I forget (something like New world), but the food was phenominal.  We then came home.
The End.
The Quote from last time.
btw...your quote from the 19th is from pirates of the carribean.
when will and jack are having some swordplay in the smith shop.
-Li
Ok, I don't remember the character's names, but it is Johnny Depp and

Orlando Bloom from "Pirates of the Carribbean" just after their fight
scene in the blacksmith's shop. -Amanda
That's about all, here's your weekly pic, can you see your house from here?, and your weekly wav.

Note: This Saturday night there is a Me vs Machine show in Garfield (the town not the cat). As soon as I get more details, I'll post em.

9/19/03
Put it away, son. Its not worth you getting beat again.
You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you.
That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?

Arrr...tis International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Me matey went all out for this, so you best be gettin to 'is website or I be makin you take a long walk offen a short plank.
You should also be lookin at this because Captain Brockie did 'is 'omework on this one mateys.

Prepare yourselves for International Talk Like a Pirate Day this Friday!
Thanks Ed.

9/16/03
pay no mind what other voices say
they don't care about you, like I do, like I do
safe from pain and truth and choice and other poison devils,
see, they don't give a fuck about you, like I do.
YAY

Later that same day:
Note to self:  do not eat at KFC anymore.  Dumbass.

9/15/03
Desperate and ravenous
I'm so weak and powerless over you

So, twas a busy weekend with fun had by all.  Well at least me.
Friday, Tom and I hit Bennigan's for food, then went across to the theatre for a viewing of Dirty Pretty Things.  It was a really good movie.  you should all go see it now or otherwise...you wont see it now.  i mean there's really nothing I can do to make you go.  I just think you'll all enjoy it, but if you don't really want to go, what could I do?  Sure I can threaten, but we both know that they'd be empty threats so why waste any time really.
At any rate, Saturday Burke and I went to see Once Upon a Time in Mexico.  While not a Sergio Leone film, it was still much much fun.  I could recommend that you all see it, but i think we want to skip that conversation this time.  Afterwards, Burke and I headed into the city where we met Li and Goostah at their place.  We then went to dinner when the event I mentioned yesterday took place.  We ended up at a Thai place on A that was pretty good.  after that we hung for a bit before going to Contempt.  You can see pics and read commentary on that here.
Oh, the next Contempt is on Oct 17th and they have the whole club this time.  Nifty.
Sunday, well technically at 5AM I got home from Contempt, but later that day, I hung out with Sean, ROSS and Scott.  We had fun and gamed and whatnot.  Yay us.
Lets see, what else.  Oh, I posted my pics from last weekends Pow Wow at Vasa Park.  View their wonder here.
Ok, on to the quote stuff.
Goostah claimed that he sent me an email about the 12th's quote, but he must've messed up big time because I never got it.  anyway he knew that it was from the song Delia's Gone by Johnny Cash.  Yeah I had to do a Johnny Cash one that day.
Then there was Ed.
Many people may think thats the they might be giants song, New York City from Factory Showroom. However those folks who are cultured in Punk music will know that this song is actually a cover that TMBG did of the song which was originally sang by the Canadian Chick band Cub. The original song is on their album entitled Box of Hair.  Correct.  Your mom will be proud.

Here's something to make a note of.  Next sunday, 9/21, Goostah is hosting a Twin Peaks night at Totem Bar on 12th Street between Avenues A&B in NYC of course.  If you go, he'll be pleased.

And here's your pic, which I saw at a movie theater not long ago, and your wav.

9/14/03
Cause, everyone's your friend in New York City
So, while walking to dinner last night we were passed by a bunch of people on bicycles wearing only their underwear yelling, "Take off your pants and join us!"
Yeah, I was amused too.

9/12/03
First time I shot her I shot her in the side Hard to watch her suffer But with the second shot she died Delia's gone, one more round Delia's gone
Sad
Sadder
In more amusing news, I got my leaky faucet fixed today.  I got home from errand running, and there was a note saying maintenance had been there.  so I checked my faucet and, behold, it wasn't leaking.  So I tried to turn it on and the cold water knob wouldn't turn.  I pulled and pulled and it wouldn't turn, so I pulled the hot water and it was fine.  I tried the cold water to no avail, but then I pushed it and it worked!  They reversed the polarity on my cold water faucet aka 'Star Trekked' it.  That's gonna throw me off for a while.
And now for some quotey goodness via Li.
so 9/9/03 is the weakerthans, from reconstruction site CORRECT!

9/5/03 is from that old bugs bunny cartoon with the chickenhawk? I think. isn't it the one where he's like I wanna easter egg!! i wanna easter egg!! INCORRECT!  I would've expected better from a Who fan. (Besides, the chicken hawk was not in the Easter episode...sigh)

and 9/2/03 good old kosh from b5. Correct!
Tomorrow...CONTEMPT!

9/9/03
And he thought about how everyone dies someday, and when tomorrow gets here where will yesterday be.
Remember when I used to only update once a week, when I actually had something to say?   Yeah, those were the days...

9/8/03
I was not codding dear old Boss when I gave you the tip, you'll hear about Saucy Jacky's work tomorrow double event this time number one squealed a bit couldn't finish straight off. ha not the time to get ears for police. thanks for keeping last letter back till I got to work again.
Well, twas a fun weekend.  Friday was, of course, the AB&G.
Saturday was much fun, starting with the Pow-wow.  Li n Goostah, stopped by here and we went to pick up Tim and headed out to Vasa Park.  Once there, I had an Indian Taco...mmm...frybread... and we caught the hoop dancer (you see, he had escaped, but we managed to put him back.)  Afterwards, we ran into ROSS, and the Sean and Giner.  Soon after we saw the Aztec Dancers.  We wandered around a bit and then hung out in the shade (hopefully pictures will be up tomorrow).  After the Pow-wow, we headed back to Timmy's and watched PCU before heading out to El Coyote!!!  We were joined by Scotty Love there.  After that we headed our separate ways.
Sunday was the start of football season.  Now I really don't care, but Zak does, so I went over to hang with him.  We were joined by his brother, Adam, Rimpi and her sister (whose name I will probably mangle here) Joati.  Zak, of course made his Chili (as if my stomach hadn't had enough Saturday).  It was fabulous, though a bit spicy.  We also had some cake to celebrate Joati's birthday.  I also learned how creative those people in Texas are.  Their big brainstorm for the new Houston team's name was  <drum roll> the Texans.  Damn that's clever.  Yeehaw!  I mean, come on!  There are many more betterer names you can come up with than that:  The Longhorns,  Rednecks, Steers,  Lethal Injections, Cowboys...oh wait.
Well, Uh, hurm.
And here's a guess for one of the quotes from none other than Cathy Holder
i''m really behind, but the quote from 9/1/03, is obviously from season 2 of buffy.....where willow has the doppleganger, (i believe it is called "Dopplegangland", and xander is telling buffy that will is dead, and now a vamp  Wow!  Cathy knows Buffy?  Odd, though she was in error.  The first part was Angel talking to buffy and the second part was Xander responding.  but you were close enough AND you even knew the name of the episode.  * Gold star for you!
Don't forget about Contempt this Saturday.

Today In History:
In 1888 in the Whitechapel district of London, Annie Chapman was murdered.

And for the pic of the week, I just have to say, my family's cat really didn't want a bath.
And here's your weekly wav.  Yeah, I renamed it.  This has a much better ring to it.

9/5/03
I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it ... (You can't have it!)
Today, whilst driving, I saw a white bus and in big red letters it had the word
SCAT written on it.  I found that hysterically funny.

9/2/03
You have forgotten something...
Forgot some announcements...heh...
This weekend is the Native American Festival at Vasa Park in Budd Lake.  We are going on Sat, so why don't you join us.
Next Saturday, the 13th, is Contempt at Remote Lounge.  This time I really hope to be there.  AKA I plan to go, but fate sometimes, she conspires against me.

OK, so I was in a classroom today waiting for a computer to connect to the server and they had this book for kids on writing poetry.  It was a flip book with 3 different parts: the type of poem, a subject and an emotion.  so I flipped through randomly and now I have an assignment for you.
Write a 'roses are red' poem (Roses are red, violets are blue...) about an itch as if you are feeling fear.
Send them to me and I'll post the best ones...or only ones, that I get.

9/1/03
Buffy, I... I just... Something's happened that... Willow's dead.  Hey, Willow.  Wait a second.
We're right there with you, buddy.

Well, I got lots of stuff done this evening.  At least as far as the page goes.
The weekend was mostly uneventful, Saturday involved much Soul Calibur II playing.
Sunday I finally started my B5 game.  I think everyone enjoyed it.
After that I scooted over to T&C's for a labor day BBQ Bash.  I got some pics that you can see over here.
I also finally got my hike pictures up.  They are here.  All I have to say is, damn I took a lot of pics.
Nothing new on the job front.  I'm really just mentioning that to make my parents nervous wrecks.
Well, lets see what else there is.
Tom guessed the quote from a couple of weeks back.
8/25/03
My god, it's full of stars...

OK, one new thing I wanted to do.  Along with the pic of the week, I am now going to have a sound of the week.  This'll be from a movie or CD or something.  And you guys can play along.  you can guess the sound, just like the quote, but you can also suggest sounds.  Either send me a wav or mp3 file (not to big now) or suggest a sound from a movie and, if I have the DVD, I'll try and get it for you.  Sound like fun?  No?  Oh well, I'm doing it anyway.
So, here we go, first your pic, then your sound.
