One more day till we change our calendars! Ooooo Boy! My life is oh
so exciting. Umm...ok, this weekend huh?
Friday I think I played computer games all night. Saturday, I did nothing
all day until the evening when I went to Sean's to hang out with Sean (of
course), Giner, Jeff (Geoff?), Timotheus and Theopolis. Tim got a new
place (ooooo). We had much food and bellyaching. While there, I did
remember that I had been invited to a family thing earlier in the day.
Ooops.
Sunday I went to see Lauren belly dance. It was a good show and Lauren
(AKA Nyla) was great. She did this dance with Isis Wings that was
fantastic. Afterwards she said that she forgot her whole routine and was
improving it. I couldn't tell at all. The rest of the dancers were
great too and I did manage to avoid the audience participation part (Yay me!)
Hopefully I'll get some pics from Craig, who brought his digital camera. Li will
ask why I didn't take any pics and insist that she gave me a camera, which she
didn't. As long as I get one before her first belly dancing performance,
it'll be ok.
Sunday night I goofed off and made a CD mix for the first time in a while.
The Ultimate Dance Mix of DOOM includes:
Atomic Box - Scorched Earth
And One - Panzermensch
Ministry - So What
St Eve - No Human Words
Pailhead - I Will Refuse
Anathema Device - Reminder
Rob Zombie - Feel So Numb
Gary Numan - Dark
Godhead - Eleanor Rigby
Front Line Assembly -Search and Destroy
Lords of Acid - The Crablouse
Switchblade Symphony - The Dollhouse
Skinny Puppy - Assimilate
New Order - Confusion
So that's it, if you cared. If not, to bad, it's my website dammit!

I was smart yesterday. I called the club before hand, around 6, to make
sure St Eve was still playing and to find out how much it was. So around
9:15 I left home, got to the place around 10 and the guy at the door was like
who's St Eve? We don't have a St Eve scheduled. So I drove to ROSS's,
who lives 5 minutes from there and we checked St. Eve's site and it says the
show was cancelled. Now did she cancel between 6 and 10 or did the place
lie to me to try and get me to come anyway? I don't know. I
was kinda bummed, but at least I didn't pay. that saved me some money.
And I hung out with ROSS and Jack for a little bit. As long as Anathema
Device doesn't do the same thing when they play there. Well if they do, at
least then I can yell at Baker.

So, you wanna meet Gwar....Oh wait, you want an update...riiight. I get
those confused. So it seems that I have an actual #1 fan! Li is
constantly asking me if I updated my page, which is weird because, this weekend,
she was there. Maybe she's just trying to make Da Gusta jealous. So
here's my weekend <insert drum roll here...>
Friday I hung out with Po. We got some dinner at The After. It was
amusing. the conversation went something like this:
Po "Do you have a cheeseburger combo platter?"
Cashier "Yeah it's on the menu."
Po "OK, I'll get that."
Cashier "It's the third one down in the middle."
Po "OK..., I'll get it."
It was if she wouldn't let him order it unless he saw it on the menu. So
we ate, purchased beverages and returned to my place to watch TV. We
watched the premieres of Firefly and John Doe. I liked both of them, they
have good potential, so since they're on Fridays, I'll dig out a blank tape for
them for future viewings. Though, just a warning to you all, most show's I
watch from the beginning don't make it. I think Smallville is the only
exception thus far. Li joined us later, and we hung out and watched some
stand up on Comedy Central and chilled. And that pretty much sums it up.
Saturday we (Li n me) went to the Pow-wow.
It was cool, there were venders and great food. The dancers and costumes
were as good as always. We met Sean there as well as his parents, who go
there every year. I was upset that the
hoop dancers didn't go on till later
in the evening, after we left. They are great. They basically take
several hula hoops and dance with them placing them on their body to make
various shapes. Now this description does no justice to the actual dance.
We then all went to El Coyote, the best Tex-mex place this side of Texas and
Mexico. There we were joined by Giner, ROSS, Sean, Wayne, Tanner, and
someone whose name I forget (CURSE MEEEEE!). The food was yummy as always
and much belly aching was had. Then all but Wayne, Tanner and that guy
went back to my place to chill. It was a fun evening and we even discussed
politics, which was pretty interesting now that I think of it, that the
"opposing" viewpoints were seated at opposite ends of the room. I put
opposing in quotes, because, they weren't really opposing, just different.
Does that make sense? Well it does to me. Maybe I should've used
differing viewpoints instead of opposing. Oh well, to late now.
Sunday. Lazy day. Computer gaming goodness. Plus a brief stint
of TV where I got to see Moleculo: THE MOLECULAR MAN! And that's pretty
much it.
Don't forget to watch Buffy and Smallville tomorrow.
Jeez, I just went to add the last hyperlink and FrontPage almost crashed. That would've sucked. Mainly because there was no way I would've retyped all of this.
Plus, if you're going to be in the Clifton area on Wednesday, don't for get to check out St Eve at Connections. See you there! And as a bonus check out Stephen Baker with Anathema Device at the same place on Oct 16!!!!

I know you all have been anxiously awaiting this update, and that is quite sad
actually. Come on, you do things too. Get your own damn WebPages.
Then don't update them at all. You know who you are! And so do I.
Know who you are, that is. Cause, I really have no clue who I am.
Speaking of which, I haven't played clue in a while.
Anyone
wanna play? Alas, I do not own it, so someone has to bring it to
wherever we play. Anyone remember the game Stop Thief? That was a
cool one, but my electronic noise thing broke and we lost some pieces, but it
was fun while it lasted. I need to cut my nails cuz it's hard to type,
even using the 2 finger method that I use. Um..., I guess it's time for my life
in summary? Lets' hear a Woo-Hoo!
Anyway....
Friday we got a surprise in the shape of Theo. Not that there's anything
wrong with her shape. Very humanish. (A clever disguise, if I do say
so myself.) So we went to Penang. And not only did I not get Curry
Chicken, I didn't get chicken at all. (Yes, Curry Chicken should be
capitalized, the same way God is.) I got curry beef, ha ha! Well it
was ok, except they left a lot of fat and gristle in there so I don't think I'll
be having that again. Then we went to the Lady's place (Yeah I'm getting
tired of Typing Tricia and Cathy over and over again.), there we played the
Buffy, The Vampire Slayer video game. Man, I wish I could afford an Xbox.
Or I just wish they'd release it for PS2. Again, I was the last one to
leave.
The rest of my weekend was rather dull and involved video games, computer games
and Big Trouble in Little China. No link, I'll just assume that everyone
knows what that is. And if you don't, you'll be thrown into the Black
Blood of the Earth. Oh, you mean oil? No! I Mean Black blood
of the Earth.
Other than that, remember, one more week till Buff and Smallville start.
And also, this Friday, Firefly starts. It's by Joss Whedon folks.
On a couple of non-related notes, not even to each other. Be careful of
the sleeping arrangements when you go to a wedding, you never know
what may happen. And in just a few
seconds, I will add a couple of Non-Baker related bands to the list.
Though I haven't seen these bands I would like to someday (ROSS.)
And there will be a contest coming up soon, so git your contesting organs ready.
Ok, I just learned that St. Eve is playing next Wednesday in Clifton. I must go.
Oh yeah, There's a Native American Pow-wow this weekend in Budd Lake. Check it out. You gotta see the hoop dancers.

OK, I'm back. Miss me? Thought so. So where was I? Oh
yeah, my weekend. And the Wednesday before hand when I saw
The Weakerthans. As I was
saying, the show was really fun. During one song they asked for someone in
the audience to get up on stage and play the guitar solo. So some guy
named Oscar played with them for one song and he was pretty damn good. A
good time was had by all, at least by me and Li or so she claims.
Friday I got Tickets to see The
Reverend Horton Heat at the same place I saw The Weakerthans. That is
on Oct 27th so I'm looking forward to that. Friday Night I went to Trish
and Cathy's and hung out with them and Theo, who has returned from china in one
piece, Timotheus and Sean. Just hanging and chatting mostly.
Saturday, I went to D-mo's and did geeky D&D things with D-mo, Zak, Tony, Chris
and Ted. We killed 2 of the 5 brothers heehee. Then I went up to Da
Gusta's Parents to see him and Li. We were met by Kat, Ed and Blanktom.
I got Trish on the Nextel and people argued over directions to give them to
where we all went, the AB&G, Allendale Bar & Grill. Once there we were
joined, not only by Trish and Cathy, though that is a treat unto itself, but
also by Josh and Carol visiting from lovely PA. Fun was had, then much
returning home and sleeping was had, at least by me.
On Sunday, I lounged all morning, the went to Zak's for some football watching
and of course, chili eating. Yes, I'm not much of a football fan, but hey,
it's Zak's how could I refuse? We were joined by Zak's friend Eric, no not
THAT Eric...Sheesh...no way. We watched the Jets - Bills game which was
kinda interesting. Zak killed in the chili department, twas soooo good.
I was going to write something on the 9/11 thing, but I'm a bit tired and my
brain is in the process of shutting down. But on a final note, you should
go visit Shanmonster.
She's having a
3-day
Novel contest, if you're interested and not lazy like me, go for it.

So, The Weakerthans show was great! Unfortunately I don't know most of the
song's names, so I can't tell you what they played. Besides, I think only
Li n Da Gusta even know their songs and they went to the show. Well I was
going to do more updating, but Sean wants to meet for foodage, so will get to
that next time. Later all.
9/3/02
Only later on.....
I just had to add this because it amused me so. I was trying to call a
customer, but wrote the number down wrong and actually got Holy Spirit Elevator
Service. Really. Not sure what they offer. Is it a one way
trip? Does it only go up? Skeptic minds want to know.....
Oh, and I heard a rumor that there is supposed to be a big update at blanktom.com
'sometime after the holiday.' Note that he didn't say how long after or
which holiday. He's a slippery one, that Tom.
9/3/02
Back to school special. Yup time to celebrate school busses
stopping every 5 feet and increased traffic. But on the plus side we get
to see that great staples commercial where the dad's running around the store
all happy and they're playing 'It's the Most Wonderful Time of the
Year.' I likes it....I likes it gooood.
So this Friday, I went with some friends (D-mo,
Rosie, and Timotheus to be exact) to see FeardotCom. I enjoyed it postings
will occur below. We then met Li and Da Gusta at Chevy's (a nice Tex Mex
place). I enjoyed a yummy dessert. After, Rosie dropped me off (She drove.
She's so niiice, even if she doesn't know what a gondola is), and, like the nerd I am, I played on the computer for a bit.
Saturday, I goofed off most of the day, and in the evening, Li, Da Gusta and I
went to see One Hour Photo. Very good indeed. We then ate at Six
Brother's Diner. But we were fools. We then proceeded to Brian &
Jessica's House warming party (No, not THAT Brian, Tim). where there was
much food to be had. Their new place looks good. It's kind of weird
to think of one of my friends owning a house though.
Ok, on to Sunday. Which was a lazy day. I hung out with Li and
what's his face again. We watched most of Donnie
Darko, but my DVD was messed up or something and the last 20 minutes was all
glitchy. We then tried to watch the special edition of Memento
in chronological order, but that didn't work right either. We ended up
watching Wild Things,
which was just right.
Monday, Labor Day, where we celebrate the working man by not working. And
I did just that. Though I did make some Pasta Salad. Which isn't a
big deal, unless you know me, which all of you do, but you must also know that
until now, I have never really made any food other than just pasta. So
some were amazed by this. The only other things that happened were a bunch
of us got dissed by D-mo. and I was playing Civ
3 and ready for bed, when the Russians attacked, so I had to stay up late to
beat them with a stick.
Other than this, I have a few things to do, CATHY was nice enough to ask Gir, but I don't have that with me, so I will do it later. I'm going to see The Weakerthans tomorrow at Maxwell's. While I'm there I'm gonna pick up some tickets for The Reverend Horton Heat's show in October.
*Movie Review*
This,
in my opinion was a beautifully dark movie. It was directed by William
Malone, who did The House on Haunted Hill (not to be confused with that awful
special effects extravaganza, The Haunting.) The movie was very dark, but
the sets and lighting set a great mood. I think there was only one day
shot where it wasn't raining, and the characters commented on it. Now the
plot was a bit thin, but as I said, I went for the visual stimuli, and boy were
they there. You got to love a movie that makes a little blonde girl
playing with a ball in a white dress (the girl, not the ball) creepy. So,
if you're looking for deep plot, this isn't for you. If you're looking for
stunningly dark and disturbing images, go see this.
Robin
Williams as a bad guy. Robin Williams as a very subdued bad guy.
This movie actually showed Robin Williams acting and not going over the top
which he usually does. Basically, he is a one hour photo guy (Sy the Photo
Guy), who has worked on this one families photos for years. Since he
doesn't like his own life much he fantasizes about being part of the family and
becomes obsessed with them. I don't want to spoil it for
anyone, but all I can say, is he does not play a typical psycho. You
actually end up feeling sorry for his character. I highly recommend this
movie to anyone and everyone. Go see it. NOW! No,
really. Now. It's ok, I'll still be here. I will.
Promise. I can wait. Really. Go.
