7/29/02
It's 8AM and already friggin hot.  I can't wait till this afternoon.  Woooooooo!
Friday I went to D-mo's.  We hung out, watched Zim and some Sci-fi Channel programs.  Nice relaxing fun.
Saturday was a party at Rosie's!  Lots of fun.  I managed to show up 2 hours before anyone else.  But it was fun Rosie and I chatted and played badminton, poorly, which was amusing in and of itself.  Later many others showed, and later still people went swimming.  This is when the story of the party occurred.  Georgie, a friend of Tricia's and Cathy's, had gotten out of the pool and just finished drying.  Then Matt, of Matter fame, picked her up and walked towards the pool.  Georgie then pulled the monkey maneuver (Curious Georgie?) and wrapped her arms and legs around Matt in a vice like grip.  Matt stood at the edge of the pool trying to get Georgie in when she suddenly leaned back and pulled them both in.  (Note:  This is funnier once you realize Matt was fully clothed).  Ah well, maybe you had to be there.  So Matt's clothes were completely soaked and we were all laughing hysterically.  Once again I also closed the party, leaving around 2:30AM.  11 hours of party, wooooo me!
Sunday I don't recall doing anything really.  I think I watched 13 Ghosts (or Thir13en Ghosts to use wacky Hollywood speak).  The movie was fun and enjoyable and had cool effects.  The house was awesome in it though.  Ummmm....Nothing else to report.  Back to duty, soldier.

Forgot to add this.  Check out Spider-Man (or Spioea-Man in China).  Got it from Shanmonster!

Ooooooo...Look! China Tour 2002 is now online! ========>

Yeah, yeah, I know.  I've been lazy...bad., bad, BAD.  So this is where I'll try and sum up, well the past MONTH of my life, which mainly occurs on the weekends...

6/28-6/30
Friday I went to see Matter (Formerly Burning Matter) At Cutter's in Mo-town.  Went with Li.  Timotheus, Tricia (not Trish, you keep saying you don't like that) and Cathy joined us there.  I'm not sure if Matter has a webpage, If they do I'll put it up to make Baker less paranoid.
Saturday I had a party, twas fun.  Baker and Dan brought a batata that they cooked with my meager supplies I had.  I need a cutting knife.  Indeedy I do.  Fun was had by all, as far as I know, well that is until Baker heard me put on Warm Leatherette by The Normal, at which time he threatened to leave.  Later we all went to Cliff's Homemade Ice Cream.  We saw this cool old car that had no door handles on the outside.  Apparently there were switches near the headlights to open it.  After this we went back to my place and watched Memento.
Sunday Me, Dan(who crashed at my place), Li, went to Indian buffet where we met ROSS and Jack, whom I haven't seen in a while.  The food was great.  Then I dropped Dan off at the train station and went to see The Minority Report.  I enjoyed it thoroughly.  But due to the summary nature of this, I cannot post a revue at this time.

7/4-7/7
4th of July weekend!!  Long holiday, no working.
Thursday, went to my aunt's for family BBQ and birthdays.  My Uncle Tom grilled had some yummy chicken.  Then it was off to Sean's for friend fun.  We were going to see fireworks but it never happened.  We went, the fireworks never happened that is.
Friday I got together with Zak, Tony, D-mo, and Carnage, as well as Tony's friend for a nice geeky D&D fun at D-mo's place.  We actually got quite a bit accomplished, which is rare for us.
Saturday....I don't recall what happened.
Sunday I went to see Men in Black II (aka MIB2 or MIIB) with Elyzium.  It was entertaining eye candy, and was quite fun.  It was followed by Taco Bell.  Mmmmmm......

OK Lunch Break!!!!!!

Mmmmmm...Pasta...

7/12-7/14
Friday I met D-mo and Tom at Bennigan's for dinner, then we went to see Reign of Fire with Sean and Rich.  The movie was entertaining, but it had a few flaws.
Saturday I got a call from Tricia saying that they needed help getting rid of a keg they inherited.  Now, I don't drink, so my thought is they wanted me there so I could make fun of them at future dates.  So I went a bit early and saw Road to Perdition with Timotheus. This was a good movie, a bit slow in parts, but Tom Hanks was very good as...a..not..good...guy.  Paul Newman was excellent as well.  The cinematography was fantastic.  Not that I know what I'm talking about, but hey.  Then off to Tricia's and Cathy's don't want to leave anyone out.  The party was fun, I was the first there, followed shortly by Timotheus.  We had burgers and dogs but alas, no spinach dip.  I met, or re-met, some cool people, Matt, Roy, his wife Katie (If that's wrong, it's Tricia's fault), Bill, Tricia's kind neighbor who told ME the party was too loud, as if I could do anything or really cared at all.  And I was one of the last to leave, I left at the same time as the last people, so I really can't claim to be last.
Sunday....Bastille Day....Hmmm....Ummm.....Hmmmmm....

7/19-7/21
Friday

Go see this it was GREAT!!!!  FANTASICO!!!!!  A MUST SEE!!!  OK, enough caps.  This movie was funny and just great entertainment.  It should be mandatory to see this.  It was even better than Coupon: The Movie.
After we went to Hennessey's in Mo-town and met Tricia.  And by we, I of course mean me, Li, Da Gusta, Timotheus, Tom, James (Back from China for a while!) and his sister, Erin.  Fun was had there, not as much as at the movie of course, but fun none-the-less.
Saturday - Li picked me up and we stopped at the mall where I picked up They Might Be giants latest CD, No!  Yes I did, really.  We then went to Jack's birthday party..yay...  We enjoyed burgers, dogs, that mozzarella thing, s'mores.  I did NOT enjoy licking Craig's nose (it was an ACCIDENT).  Got to see many people, such as ROSS, Jack(duh), Craig (accident, I swear), Kat, Ed, Tom, Kevan, and people I've met at Jack's before but do not remember names to. We later went to the AB&G because it was Ed's Birthday as well..yay.. There we had food, not me cause I'm po.  No not him, poor.  Tom, Ed, Kat, Li, Kevan, Jen, Bob John and I had fun.  Fun fun fun fun fun.  Ok I feel much better now, thanks for the nice pills doctor.  Sorry, it's a bit warm in here right now.  Ed is wicked cool and gave me his leftover pasta, which I had for lunch today.  Nummy!
Sunday I went to my parents for lunch.  My mom made some nice home cooked Chinese takeout.  She's the bestest.  I Then picked up Li and we went to Mexicali Rose in Montclair, where we met Sean (Happy birthday), Gina, ROSS, Timotheus, Rich, Dave, Lauren (Whew!) and Carnage.  Good Tex-mex, though, In my opinion, El Coyote is better and cheaper.  We then got ice cream and hung out in a park and scared people with our conversation for a while (Thanks Dave and Rich!).

OK, that's pretty  much been my month.  Hope I get better with keeping you up to date.  Sorry folks.  If I forgot anything let me know.

6/24/02
Well it appears that updates seem to be occurring weekly.  Well, that's better than not at all.  Maybe it's because, for the most part, I only do things on the weekend.  Which brings me to.....
Friday!!  Much driving was to be had during the workday.  I first went to the Isle of Staten to finish up a few things with one of our customers, followed by a trip to Bernardsville to bang my head against a wall trying to get an internet filtering program called Websense to work (Insert AAARRRGGGHHH here).  Well actually, Websense seems to be working fine, it's the ISA server I'm having the fun with.  Sigh.  Anyways, I then went back to the office, stopping at Wendy's on the way (mmmmmm...Frosty...) and spent the afternoon catching up and paperwork and such.
After work, I hopped the train to NY, then hopped the subway to 59th street, then walked a couple of blocks to Carnegie Hall.  Across the street from Carnegie Hall was CAMI Hall, where my pal, and paprika fan, Dan and some of his friends had a group called Anti-social Music perform.  Dan's piece, Lycanthropy of a Poe Poem, was performed.  I'm not sure which piece was his from listening, but all were very enjoyable, and thus so was his.  Yay Dan!
After everyone went to a place called Bar 9.  I wasn't to thrilled there, mostly because I had to stand as there were no seats left.  So after a bit, I made my way back to Penn Station.  Once there, I waited 1/2 hour for a drink because:  a) The guy behind the counter was so slow that had he been going any slower he would've been comatose.  b) An Incubus concert had just let out from Madison Square Garden right above and there were many teens on line.  c) One guy decided that he actually wanted to buy soup and not just a drink thus slowing down and confusing the counter guy even more.
The train ride home was very crowded, but I had my Discman and was only semiconscious anyway.
Saturday!!  Woke up bright and early.  Heard the guy in the next building getting his Nice Big Mufflerless Motorcycle (NBMM) ready for a few minutes before driving off.  I eventually ended up going out to see Windtalkers, which was most enjoyable (movie review hopefully coming tomorrow), followed by good eatins at Sizzler (The Italics here mean it's whispered.)  I came home, and popped in one of the Buffy season 2 DVDs.  Of course, in the midst of watching the NBMM returned and drove around the parking lot for about 15 minutes.  Let me tell you, I was quite glad I don't own a gun at this point.  I pretty much spent the whole evening watching Buffy.
Sunday!! A most uneventful day.  So uneventful in fact, that I can't remember what I did for most of the day until dinnertime.  At dinnertime I went to Trish's with Timotheus and Rachael.  Then all of us, which includes Cathy who also lives at Trish's (odd that its called Trish's then) went to Penang, a yummy Malaysian food restaurant.  We ordered and shared our food which consisted of: Bread with curry dip, curry chicken, chili chicken, some shrimp thing, ginger duck, some beef thing, coconut rice, and peanut pancakes.  Very yummy, very filling.  Then we returned to Trish-n-Cathy's to watch the China Vacation videos and a disk of Camp Kill Yourself, which is the basis for MTV's Jackass, so I hear.  After, there was much going home and sleeping.  The End.  Or is it?.....

6/17/02
Hi everybody!!!   Hi Dr. Nick!!!  Well, twas a fun weekend.  Saturday morning I got online and got me some Tool tickets.  Woohoo!  Once again there being opened for by yet another Mike Patton project: Tomahawk.  In case you are unaware, Mike Patton was the lead singer of Faith No More during its heyday.  If you don't know who Faith no more is, then never mind.
I also went to the Atomic Box show, which was good.  Unfortunately during the last song, Summer Camp Resistance, when the Reverend Dr. Atomic messed up by starting the words for another song.  I felt bad for him, because you could see he realized it but really couldn't do anything until the refrain without being really obvious.  Special Agent Greene, aka Baker, turned on his heart light and played like he has played before, which is good.
After the show, much walking was done, which helped in a hearty night's sleep.
Sunday was Dad's Day, so after taking the train home, I spent 10 minutes at my place getting changed, and rushed over to my parent's house.  There, I got a new, well new for me, pasta pot me mum had sitting around, and yet another of my birthday gifts (A fun copy of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac to read) that seem to still be trickling in about a month after the fact.  Then my sis and I took our dad to the Bavarian Inn, a German restaurant filled with yummy goodness.
Well, work time has arrived.  I must be going now.

6/10/02

Yeah, it's been a week and I know you guys have been jonesing for more.  And what fascinating news I have.  No, not really, but I'll tell you anyway.
This past week has been busy, there was much movie watching and PS2 playing involved, if you can call that busy.  Since my last update, I watched Run Lola Run, From Hell, and Donnie Darko, all great movies.  I liked Run Lola Run so much, I bought the soundtrack the next day, which has some really cool techno songs.  I also got My DVD software working on my computer once more and was able to watch the end battle of Star Wars: Episode II.  As far as the PS2 goes, I think I am now a Final Fantasy X addict.
Thursday I had to go into the city (no not where The Tick is, New York City). but had fun getting there.  There was a derailment on the midtown direct line, so I had to take the train to Hoboken and take the path from there.  not only that, but instead of being an express, the train stopped at every stop along the way.  So I got to my appointment about an hour later than I had planned.  I spent about 3 hours trying to fix a computer there and couldn't get it working (grrrrrrrr....).
In other news, this Saturday, I helped Li (Who is simply the coolest!) move into her new place.  Fifth floor, no elevators, me way out of shape, let me tell you, it wasn't pretty.  Her place is nice, not teeny-weeny more cozy.  The only gripe I have is that it is no longer 5 minutes from my place so we can't hang out at a moments notice (sob).  We had plenty o' help moving including....

**Support Stephen Baker**
Don't forget!!  Atomic Box will be playing at Albion Batcave at Downtime, 10pm 251 W 30th St (between 7th and 8th Ave)Come see Baker's new 'dew.  Oh yeah, it's on Sat 6/15.   The day after Flag Day!!!!

6/4/02

Woohoo...what a fun weekend.  I got home from a friend's late Friday night and realized that my driver's license had expired that day.  Saturday morning, I called and found out that the DMV was not open till Monday.  So, being a bit paranoid, I made the decision not to drive anywhere.  Which was ok, because I managed to have an extremely relaxing weekend full of much PS2 fun.  As well as having some friends over on Saturday for some nice D&D geekness, and me mum over on Sunday for yummy pizza (she left the save for free pie coupons again).
Monday I went to the not so newly but newly for me redesigned DMV.  It was much more organized, with a take-a-number-system that made standing on line semi-obsolete.  I was only there for 20 minutes, so I was able to get to work on time. Plus there was a cute girl working there, yum.

No new movie reviews, or Baker news.  Got some cool Belated B-day gifts after my return.  Some PS2 games (see above), movies (think I'll watch From Hell tonight), books and new sheets from the family.  Li got me a nice stuffed Gir.

Still taking my sweet time to get the China 2002 tour page up and running. But here's a pic of lil' ol' me on the great wall.  Or watch this amusing movie that Timotheus put together (Blur's Song 2 was our theme song for the Beijing portion of our trip).
