Ah, to be young again... and a robot.
So, this has been a banner month for me.  7500 hits on my site.  A record, well for me it is and I'm excited.  Anyways, It was a fun weekend.  Friday was of course AB&G night.  which was cool because aside from seeing the usual crowd, Josh and Carol showed up.  And on top of that, Jen threw her beer on people while making introductions.  Also, the mysterious Nay was supposed to show up, but he didn't.  Tom thinks it's because he isn't real.
Saturday was Zax DnD game.  My character died, so I had to play Dave's since he wasn't there.  So we fought some evil fire spirits, survived (barely) and got a wish, so I wished for everyone to be at full health.  And viola, my character is revived.  Afterwards we had a lil BBQ.  no pics from this one, plus I'd like to thank Zak for bringing the Mac Salad.  Sunday, I chilled all day and Scott forgot to go get his new Ac from my parents.  well that and he slept till 4.  But that evening Tommmmm and I went to see 28 Days Later.  I thought it was a great movie.  the way it was shot and the story and chars too.  Go see it.  Though I feel that the "zombie movie" label is a bit misleading.
Ummm... I really don't have much else to say.  Except thanks to Li for the DVDs she lent me.
Speaking of Zombies (well, I was a little ways back), here's your pic o the week.

Trivia:  Today in 1740 Marquis de Sade was born.

Just relax... And take your pants off.
Those two concepts are antithetical.
Well not much to say.  First off, Li guessed yesterday's quote correctly with: said to Thomas O'Keefe while playing mah jong at the shore house.
Secondly, I had an interview today (yay) with a staffing company that specializes in IT.  Here's to hoping...
So, I am gonna have fun tonight.  In fact, I'm gonna Wang Chung tonight.
Woohoo, you can't stop me!

6/25/03
You do not have the white dragon.
Damn it's hot.
Ok so we had 2 answers for the quotes thing.
for 6/23 Rosie guessed correctly with: Joe Pesci from the movie " GOODFELLAS" ( as directed to ray liotta as Henry Hill in the dining room scene when Henry Hill is introduced to " Tommy ') (Though they were already friends in that scene, they had been introduced as kids)
For 6/24 Amanda got it right with Obi Wan speaking to Jar Jar in Star Wars Ep 1

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!
"The next Contempt! event will be held at Remote Lounge on the Bowery on SATURDAY 16 AUGUST."

You were banished because you were clumsy?
Zak sent me this site which is great.  It's the video of the Star Wars Kid, plus many re-mixes.  If you haven't heard of the Star Wars Kid, well, I don't know what to say.  you probably haven't heard of Trogdor either.

6/23/03
But, I'm funny how? Funny like a clown? I amuse you? I make you laugh?
So, um...nothing.
Anyway, Friday was AB&G.  Lots of fun.  Goostah showed up Cause he was doing some roleplaying thing in south Jersey this weekend.  ROSS showed up real late, bit retrieved his Bourbon from my car.
Saturday Tom and I saw The Hulk.  It was actually pretty good.  It had a nice guest appearance.  Then we went to Bri and Jess's BBQ in the pouring rain.  Well we almost didn't because I made the mistake of following Tom, but we got back on track.  It was fun and the food was great.  Mmmm...Kabobs...  We also played some games and had a great time.
Sunday...well Sunday I did nuthin aside from playing D2 with the Edmeister and Josharama.  Though Li was lucky enough to do cool things.
Today I did some gaming stuff, I also managed to setup my servers.  Yup, I have servers in my room.  Though my Netware server needs to be resetup because, A) I can't remember the admin password, and B) it's good practice.  My Windows 2000 server is working good.  Though 64Megs of RAM went bad so now it's doggin.  anyone got any extra DIMMs for a P2?  Willing to donate?  Now, I have extra hard drive space for files and stuff though...yay.
Also, during the day, I heard a weird noise outside my window.  I checked it out and saw this.
Umm...I also got a CD I had ordered weeks ago today.  It's really good, though now I must go to the concert.
I think that's all.  Well except for your pic.  It's Giger!!!
I was thinking of setting something up where you could guess what my quotes are from for each update.  The first person to guess correctly gets their name mentioned on the next one?  I dunno, I can't afford prizes, especially not that often.  It's just fun.  What do you think?  Will anyone actually do it?
Oh and I'm getting alot of hits this month, which is really cool.  And people are finding my page through search engines.  Here's a list of what people are looking for when they find me:

Whatta ya wanna do with your life?
I wanna rock!
So it seems like I fixed the link to my quiz.  Before it was logging people in as me, then it didn't see the quiz.  That's what I get for taking the code they gave me on their "post it on your webpage"  section.  So now if you take it, it'll actually let me know how you did.

6/20/03
I don't know how or why...but the dead...they walk among us...and they are hungry
This has to be one of the greatest webpages ever!  Man, it makes me hungry.

6/18/03
I'm fine... I'm fine...
I don't think so. We just cut up our girlfriend with a chainsaw. Does that sound "fine"?

So got notice in the mail today about my unemployment benefits.  Enough to survive as long as I don't do anything "fun".  I really don't know how people do this for months on end.
So, here's to hoping a job comes my way.
I updated my resume, the one everyone suggested.  Here it is and continue advising.  Or if you know anyone who's looking to hire, email me and I'll send you the one with all my info on it.
In other news, last night I hung with Fartner (man, I haven't called him that since we were kids) and ROSS.  We watched I'm with Busey which is absolutely hilarious.  I have to try and remember to watch it every week.  I'm sure Li is upset she doesn't have Comedy Central and has to miss it.
No other news really.  Played some video games and did some reading.  Yay me.
Oh, check out a couple of new links I added.
I was bored and made a quiz about me.  See how you do.

You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.
So, I had an interesting week.  Thursday morning I dropped my car off at the shop to get fixed.  Yup, it was the breaks, but they needed to order parts, so my car had to stay overnight.  I borrowed the company van for the night.  That evening, I met up with some friends.  Talked work with one of them, and he offered to keep an eye open for any openings at his company for me.  Cool, I thought.  Alas, it was Friday when the irony hit home.  That night, when I went to go home, I discovered that the van's headlights were out...BOTH of them.  Luckily it was a short ride home.
So, Friday I went into work and after settling in for a bit, I got called to the owners office.  Now, being part of a small company, this is nothing odd.  Well he tells me that the company is in dire straits financially and that they can't afford to keep me on.  Yup, I got laid off, downsized, etc.  So, he tells me that I can leave, except I can't because my car is still in the shop.  So around noonish, I got a ride home from a co-worker, one of the 2 that are left.  He told me that he is on 4 day weeks now.  So, I immediately emailed my friend who I talked to Thursday night and got to work on my resume (with some help from the wondrous TM) and emailed it out to him and applied for unemployment.  Had to get the ball rolling on that.  I also got my resume uploaded to monster.com and did a little searching there.  I decided to post 2 versions of my Resume here (Sans personal contact info, I'm paranoid like that).  You may peruse them and offer advice, or hey, get me a job.  Here's the first one and the second oneLet me know what you think.  They're in word format, just an FYI.  Friday evening was, of course, the AB&G.
Saturday was my big BBQ of fun.  Check out that event here.
Sunday was Dad's day, so aside for the morning D2, that afternoon I went to see me papa and of course break the good news to him and mum.  It went pretty well and we settled in for dinner.  We got Boston Market and just chilled.  We ended up watching Walking with Cavemen, which was pretty cool.
Today was uneventful, just lazed around and ended up watching some Hollywood detective movie.  Twas most enjoyable.
So, anyway, aside from the few things that I had ordered when I was ignorant, I'm entering poor mode.  Otherwise, here's your pic.  It's my favorite piece by a great artist, Brom.

Oh, all the money e'er I had, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that ever I've done, alas it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit to mem'ry now I can't recall;
So fill to me the parting glass, Good night and joy be with you all.

Oh, all the comrades e'er I had, they're sorry for my going away.
And all the sweethearts e'er I had, they'd wished me one more day to stay.
But since it falls unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not,
I gently rise and softly call, Goodnight and joy be with you all.

If I had money enough to spend, and leisure time to sit awhile.
There is a fair maid in this town, that sorely has my heart beguiled.
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips, I own, she has my heart in thrall;
Then fill to me the parting glass, Good night and joy be with you all.
Damn economy.

Look in your heart! Look in your heart!
What heart?
So, I got my weekend of BBQ fun pics up.  Go over to the events or just click here.
Last Friday was AB&G fun.  There was a huge crew of us and we were waiting, but I actually was able to get us seats through knowing someone.  I'm not bragging, I'm actually quite shocked since this never happens to me, but my cousin's fiancée was working there and got us all seated at 3 tables and we needed them.  There was plethora of revelers there that night.
It's nice of me to finally update for last weekend midweek, isn't it?
Well, I also finally got my shiny new device that I won off of eBay, which since I had a few extra bucks was ok.  But now my car is making horrid sounds every time I apply the breaks, so I need to spend money on that.  never a break for me, eh?  Sigh.  So I get to drop off my car tomorrow and catch a ride into work.  Yippee.  Debtors prison here I come!
I wish I could've gone to the Anathema Device show last night, but because of current situations, I might have to miss the onelinedrawing show next month...Ubersigh.

What the...?
So, the month of BBQs has begun.  I have some pics to put up, but I'm feeling kinda beat so we'll see how far I get.
I managed to reorganize all the event things I've done and put them into one place.  You can see off to the side menu there an events link or just click here.  But now I'm to beat to chronicle the BBQ weekend, so you'll have to wait.
And an FYI for those of you cyber-stalking me, yesterday I watched One Hour Photo and today I watched Miller's Crossing.  Now you have to catch up.  And, if you haven't guessed, I like using imdb.
So, here's your pic and away I go.

6/6/03
You park like a fuckin superhero!
Yes, I was actually told that yesterday by someone.
So, Tuesday evening was The Weakerthans show.  First Li and I, after some miscommunication, met up at Arthur's for some food.  I had a nice bacon swiss burger, which apparently used the last of the bacon because soon thereafter they erased bacon cheeseburger from the menu.  I also learned that I do not like A1 Sauce, so, incase I forget and say "Hey, I should try some A1."  Just remind me that I do not like it.  Thanks.  I'm asking this because, after tasting it, I seem to remember trying it before and not liking it.  So, then we went to Maxwell's and had fun as you can see here.
Wednesday was spent doing not much, except finishing The Family Guy which was kindly loaned to my by the human formerly known as Blanktom.  Also ended up watching most of last season's Angel which was loaned to me by the human currently known as Cathy.
Thursday, I went to Indian Buffet with some chick.  We then went to see Finding Nemo which was a fun movie over all, or uber alles whichever you prefer.  What I thought would be really fun though, would be to take all the kids to Red Lobster after they watched a movie about talking fish.  Maybe refer to all the dishes by character name too.  Later on in the evening, I ended up going to bed nice and early thanks to a headache and upset stomach...yay!
That leaves me with today.  Well since it's still morning, I have no idea what's going on today.  Cursed lack of psychic powers.  Though if I did have powers, wouldn't telekinesis be better than ESP.  Think of all the fun you could have with it, besides killing a yak with mind bullets I mean.

6/2/03
Have you seen me?
Have you seen me?
Have you seen me?
Me
Have you seen me?
So, day 1 of vacation down and I've actually accomplished some things:

  • Laundry
  • Food Shopping
  • Clean Grill
  • Narrowly avoid gigantic bee that flies out of the grill as I fire it up for the first time
  • Learn how to manipulate html so a bulleted list comes out the way I want it to
So, We'll see what I accomplish tomorrow, eh?  Maybe some cleaning?  Maybe...

    6/1/03
    That's an interesting name, Mr...?
    Babar.
Is that with one B or two?
    One. B-A-B-A-R.
    That's two.
Yeah, but not right next to each other, that's what I thought you meant.
Isn't there a children's book about an elephant named Babar.
Ha, ha, ha. I wouldn't know. I don't have any.
    No children?
    No elephant books.
Wooo, what a wild ride it's been.  Well not really but I wanted to grab ya from the get go.  And now I'll let go lest you sue me.  So I'm off of work this week, which means I'll make all these plans to do things around the apt and then just sit around on my ass all week.  At least I know me well enough to know that.
So, my weekend was enjoyable.  Well, lets start with Thursday.  Thursday I actually went up to the AB&G to hang out with some people that I know and other people that I don't know.  I think I finally discovered how to get chicks to flock to me though.  All you have to do is sit there and don't say much and fiddle with a knife all night.  Chicks dig that, right?  Right?
Friday was another amusing day at work.  Followed by an amusing night with Tricia, Cathy, Timmy and Li-y.  We went to The Barn, which was to crowded, then Rossi's, which was to...<shudder>, and finally to Muldoon's which was just right.  Now, they did have Karaoke, but they did not crank it, so we could still talk.  They also had good food (mmm...Irish club sandwich...).  Finally late in the evening, we went our separate ways.
On the Day of Saturn (AKA Liquid Hot Magma day), Zak and crew came over for DnD (that reminds me, be right back...OK, I'm back.)  The game was exciting, we ventured into some caves filled with LHM and fire spirits.   After the game, Goostah showed up and we met Tom at Ruby Tuesdays for food.  Then we returned to my abode and watched Volcano for a bit to see some LHM, then popped in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.  This is one of my 2 favorite comedies ever.  I'm sure you all know the other one.  Because I probably either mention it or quote it often enough.  Shut up Donnie.
This brings us to Sunday, the day of rest.  And, boy, did I ever rest.  I watched the end of Band of Brothers, then played some D2 with Ed.  We killed Diablo today.  I know you're all proud.  Sorry Josh, you gotta be there or you miss out.  This was followed by a watching of The Family Guy, which was followed by a nap, which was followed by some CivIII, which was followed by this.  So exciting, eh?

So, Tuesday is the Weakerthans show at Maxwell's, which will be preceded by Arthur's.  If you'd like to join Li and I for dinner there, let me know.
Also in the news, Blanktom.com is dead.  Remove it from your links page NOW!!!!
Plus, I got this fun game this past week.

Here's the pic.  we were discussing this this weekend so, so what.  It's my page and I'll post any damn pic I please.
