I react strongly to images that have no obvious answer to their mysteries.
If there is a key to their construction, they are simply illustration.
Today is the birthday of Zdzislaw Beksinski, one of my favorite artists.
Click on the image below to see some more of his art.

The important things always come in threes. Mother, father, child.
Childhood, Adulthood, old age.
Life, death, and New Jersey
So, yet another exciting weekend in the life that I claim as mine.
Friday, I got home at 8:30 from work and John Doe wasn't on, so I just kinda sat
around and played Civ III. Saturday, I
hung out with Tricia and Tim. Which was cool, because I hadn't really seen
either of them in a while. Then that night, I went to see
Antisocial Music. It was a
great show. The hall was filled and many people had to stand. I
really dug Dan's piece "Trails of a Forlorn Dawn Donkey" which he conducted.
He is a very animated conductor, I thought he might start moshing at any moment.
I also liked a piece called "PortRait_2,**NYC2k2". It was a piano piece
that was like a classical-industrial fusion. There was also some weird
competition thing between a guy on drums and a guy on woodwinds that I did not
completely understand (and by not completely, I mean not at all). Then for
the final piece, they could not find the score for it. They were looking
around and the musicians on stage were goofing around and played some Smells
Like Teen Spirit. after a bit, the conductor/writer came out and announced
that someone had bogarted the score and that they'd try and play anyway.
They were good, I wouldn't have known had they not said anything. Plus as
a bonus, I got to see Luke, whom I haven't seen since last summer, I think.
Matt and Kristina were there, which was cool. ROSS didn't show, which
caused Dan much disappointment. After, I went home and was craving some
Dunkin Donuts™, but the only one I passed was part
of an Exxon station and it looked closed.
Sunday, I chilled all day and went to hang at Sean and Giner's in the evening
with Lauren and Fenton. It was fun and I learned what this cool song I had
heard at Contempt was. It's
Hellraiser by Suicide Commando. And, I helped Lauren figure out a song she
liked. It was Deutschmaschine by And One otherwise known as Bakersbane.
Then I braved the freezing roads and came home.
Ok, I just found out that my friend, Kevan, is in the hospital with brain lesions. Please send as much good vibes as you can muster his way. Thank you.
And here, by not so anonymous request, is the pic of the week.
Almost forgot, Added a link to 8-bit Theater. It's a great comic based on the original final Fantasy game for NES. It's hilarious. Check it out, but start at the beginning.

Before he came down here, it never snowed. And afterwards, it did. I don't
think it would be snowing now if he weren't still up there. Sometimes you can
still catch me dancing in it.
Yup, it's still snowing. At least its flurries now. I spent just
over an hour this morning digging out my car. There's a lot out there.
Or as George W would say, "I haven't seen this much white powder since college!"
2/17/03
It's white out there...
I think it might be snowing a little bit...STILL!!!!!
So, busy busy weekend. Well, except for Friday that is. but I see
that I already wrote about that. What a memory I have! Anyway,
continuing on...
Saturday morning I got up bright and early to catch the train to the city.
Then took the subway to Li's. Unfortunately they were working on the L
line and I didn't know it. At Union Square, I had to transfer to another
train across the track. They kept announcing "This is a Brooklyn bound L
train" which is what they always announce. As soon as the doors close,
they announce that the next stop is Bedford Ave. It passed 3rd and First
Ave, which is where I wanted to get off. CRAP!!! So, I rode
the train back from Brooklyn to Union Square, then Started walking to Li's.
After a block, I realized that I was walking the wrong way, turned around and
walked to Li's. Got there, Li wonders why I didn't take the bus, I explain
that my working knowledge of the NYC bus system is sub-par and plus I had no
idea that the train was all screwy. Li really digs those busses.
Anyway, we headed out to meet the Green Party at Bryant Park. We started
at 40th Street and 6th Ave. The rally was on First Ave at 49th Street.
We walked down 6th for a while and eventually cut up to 3rd around 50th Street.
There we were joined by several thousand other marchers and headed up Third Ave.
At one point the police had the street blocked off, but the crowd eventually
continued through. The crowd was chanting "Whose streets? OUR
STREETS!" Gusta bailed around 59th Street. The crowd cut up to 2nd
Ave shortly after that. We walked up 2nd Ave till 69th Street then headed
up to First...20 blocks from the rally point. Anyway, to make a long story
short (too late), Li and I hopped some barriers and snuck down some alleys and
eventually made our way up to 52nd street. We passed back several bags of
pins and a couple of police barricades. Around 4 or 4:30 we decided it was
time to go and get heat into our bodies. We turned to leave and walked 15
feet and ran into Dan and Andy. We all decided to get food. We
actually had to hop a police barricade to get out, everyone was blocked in.
As we walked out, a woman was chanting "Free Me! I have to pee!"
All my pics can be seen here. Warning for
dial-up users. I broke it down, but there are still many pics.
Please be patient.
Dan, Andy, Li and I headed to the subway then went to The Bendix diner.
the food was good and we ended up just sitting there for a while. Li and I
returned to her place for a bit, then she, gusta and I met Matt, Kristina, and
Baker at Dan's. Kristina's grandmother is in the hospital so send her some
good vibes. anyway, we all hung out and chatted about the past and current
events and I eventually started losing consciousness on Dan's couch ands we
eventually returned to Li's and fell asleep.
Sunday, I had some breakfast at Li's, the used the BUS (see Li) to get to the
PATH (no emphasis here, it's just capitalized) to take the train to Ho-Ho-Kus
for my grandmothers memorial service. It was very nice and I got to see
some people, I hadn't seen in a while, like my Aunt Sue and her kids Will and
Megan from California (where were probably snowed in today too, nyah!) and some
other people who I didn't even know. It was a nice afternoon and there was
good food, catered by the AB&G. We left around 7ish and I decided that due
to snow, I shouldn't go back into the city for
Contempt. I was ad
that I didn't go, but judging by the snow we got,
it was a good idea.
I spent all day today goofing off and watched
Escape From New York (which I
wouldn't have been able to do had I gone to contempt).
OK, don't forget that this Sat at 8PM is
Anti-social Music. It's only
$9.99 to get in so
join me and cheer on Dan.
Also don't forget that on 2/25, Christopher Reeve will be on Smallville.
Come join the viewing at my place if you'd like. Let me know in
advance and maybe we can plan pizza or something...oooooo....
And also, the pic of the week! There's always room for it.
2/14/03
Love! What does love have to do with marriage?
So, it's a big weekend ahead. Tomorrow, I get up early and head into
the city to meet Li and got to the
rally (which was actually the number 2 story on the news after the Penn
Station fire. Whoa.). Then, I think Po is meeting up with us to hang
out. Then I crash at Li's. Then on Sunday I take the train out to my
grandfather's for our family memorial gathering. Then take the train back
into the city for contempt.
Then hit the train back home, arriving sometime around 3AM. And then I get
to go to work on Monday!!!! WOOOOO!!!! So, the next update will
be....sometime after that.
Also, I was amused at a bomb scare at a mall made big news tonight. I
remember growing up, at one point my high school was getting almost a bomb scare
a week and we were excited to hear a little blurb about us on TV. Hell, I
think one of the kids who were caught calling in a bomb scare still graduated
with me. Imagine if that happened now? Half the student population
held indefinitely for being suspected terrorists? There's no serious point
here. Just amusing myself with how times have changed. For better or
worse? You decide.
And now, a couple of notes.
First off, it seems that my guestbook saves the
entries in random order. Makes things more interesting, so I'll keep it.
I originally set it up to put in the date, but since the sever is in Hong Kong,
it kept using that time. Oh, well.
Second off, whoever wants to see a piece written by Dan performed at the
Antisocial Music show on Sat 2/22 raise your hands. OK, now lower your
hands and
email me to let me know.
Third off, there is no third off.
Forth off, I feel like there's something else I wanted to say, but I'm drawing a
blank right now. Oh yeah. Sorry, Li. I didn't follow through
with your lethal granite bombardment plan for Valentines Day. I apologize.
Maybe next year.

I guess if your name's not Saddam, you're not worthy of America's hatred.
ALERT!!!!
Forget Iraq, The Legion of Doom
is alive and well in Sussex County NJ!!!

On a sad note, my grandmother passed away this Tuesday morning. If her next life is half as good as this one was, it will truly be paradise. I'd like to thank all my friends who've offered their support. You guys (and gals) are the best.

Hey, Mr. President. When even the Germans don't want to fight, take the
fucking hint.
So, aside from the MvM show on Saturday, my weekend
was pretty lame. The show was great, despite the fact that their monitors
were out and they couldn't hear themselves. Gotta check them out next time
around.
Sunday, I hung out with Sean, Giner, Carnage, ROSS (again), And D-mo. We
chilled and they played some Xbox.
This weeks pic is provided by Ed. Wondering how to transport Jesus from place to place? Well, wonder no more.
Couple of links for ya.
How to survive any
RPG.
Dude, you're gettin a
doob.
Dr. Evil says...
25 Laws of anime.
Teen Girl
Squad!!!
There's still the
anti-war rally this weekend as well as
Contempt.
Don't know what my weekend holds anymore. My grandmother had a stroke and isn't recovering. And thanks anyway, but no, I really don't want to talk about it right now.
2/9/03
The MvM pics will be delayed. My grandmother's in the hospital, so nothing
really till I find out more.
2/7/03
Game over, man! Game over!
Sigh.
2/6/03
Ha-ha, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most
famous of which is "Never get involved in a land war in Asia"
Here's what happens when you go around calling countries part of an Axis of
Evil willy nilly.
2/4/03
Something is terribly wrong.
You are at war with everyone in the known universe. Perhaps you were thinking of
that?
So, I've been very busy. Mostly at work, which leads me to be very
tired at home. I'm still alive though, such as it is.
Anyway, Li and Tricia won the guess the quote contest. They have to remind
me to give them their discount cards, cuz, you know, I forget things.
Well, here's the answer too.

And another one, just for fun.

And also, this was just begging to be done. Here's the
pic of the week! Got it after I tried to
update last. Makes it worth the stress.
Hey! Next weekend in NYC there will be an
anti-war rally.
I plan to go. Will you?
Don't forget the MVM show at
Batcave this Sat and
Contempt next Sun, the day
after the rally. I will be at all 3 events.
Can you get to any of them?
And, anyone interested in contempt should also check
this out. (Thanks to the Zizz.)
Allright, bedtime. More later.

Walked to the store to buy some cream. Bought a bunch of stuff and walked
back home. Got inside and realized I hadn't gotten any cream. Walked back.
Bought cream. Walked back home. Got inside and realized I'd left the cream at
the store. Gave up.
