What the hell kind of name is that? It's like some sort of
superhero or something.
What makes you think I'm not?
Just a wee bit behind in my posting. I've been busy. Have a
bunch of pictures that I need to upload. But I'm watching the Oscars
now, for some reason. I'm not sure.
Anyway, I had a pretty good month. Went to a party at Brian's (AKA Dr.
Atomic). Got to know a few people there and discovered that I'm some
kind of (very very) minor celebrity. I am the Contempt Photo Guy.
Twas good times. The week after that was hanging out in NJ. The
following week was quite an adventure. I went to check out the gates in
central park. It was interesting. I also hit the Hayden
Plane'arium, which was wicked cool. Then got some food and saw
Constantine. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Keanu was, well,
Keanu, but the plot was cool and the effects, were neato. Then went to
Contempt to fulfill my obligations.
This past weekend, I went back to QXTs and made myself suffer for the rest of
the weekend. Yesterday was quite interesting. I'm going to repost
here what I've posted elsewhere because it needs to be told. Warning,
not family friendly story ahead.
Started off with trying to find parking in Harrison. I settled on the
Quickcheck parking lot because I didn't happen to have the $4 of quarters that
it takes to park on the street. Then a panicked wait at the PATH station as I
envisioned all sorts of horrible things happening to my car. Then I missed the
train cause I was heading to 14th street and didn't get on the WTC train
forgetting that I had to get on the WTC train and transfer at the next stop.
Did I mention that is was horrifyingly cold? Horrifying will crop up again
later in the evening.
Met up with Dan, Li, and Josh at Union Square and we got yummy Thai for
dinner. Then Dan and I head for the NYC Goth Rock fest.
Now, before I go into my description of the evening with the fact that I
really don't like most goth music. Actually the only reason I went was to see
Anathema Device. OK, here's where it gets interesting.
So, Dan and I caught the last bit of the first band. At one point the lead
singer wrapped the mic chord around her arm and pretended to shoot up with a
needle (it had fake blood and everything). Then she started messing with a
veil and ended up getting tangled up with it several times. At the same time,
she pulled out this rather large sci-fi looking gun. Played around with it,
pointed it at the crowd and shot confetti out. Finally she stepped down into
the crowd ran her veil over several people and walked out the door. Meanwhile
the band is still playing for a bit while she is gone. And she doesn't even
come back to help them break down their gear.
The next band was definitely interesting. Not their music really, but their
stage show. At one point the drummer's shirt disappeared and the lead singer
took his off too. I turned to Brian and said "If he takes his pants off,
I'm out of here." to which he responded, "It'd be much better if the
hot guitar chick took her skirt off." Precognition anyone? A little bit
later while checking out said hot guitar chick I thought, wasn't she wearing a
darker shirt? Wait! She's not wearing a shirt anymore. Or anything else above
the waist either. Yup topless hot guitar chick. Then...(yup there's a then to
this) I was looking again and saw she was missing something else, her skirt!
No one saw her take anything off. Shes a stripper ninja or something. So,
totally naked hot guitar chick. Of course everyone was watching the band now.
At this point Brian blurts out "Hey, that's cheating!" There was
also something odd going on on the floor between the lead singer and some
other chick, but I couldn't (or didn't want to) see. Then the band broked down
their gear. Above mentioned guitarist still not getting dressed.
The next band was Anathema Device. They rocked. I haven't seen them for about
2 years and they have improved greatly. Not that they were bad before, they
just mesh better. Loved the new songs. Until their gear decided to quit during
the last one. Stupid gear {kicks the dirt}.
The next band was...ok I guess. Couldn't really get past the lead singer's
huge orange hair with bats in it. Dan, dratomic, Jeff and I went to get air
and grab food/drink.
The next band...well...oh my...
Ok, they had a fire eater which was kind of cool. They also had a chick
dancing off to the side, which was ok until she took a razor blade and carved
'slut' into her abdomen. Yeah, seriously. The lead singer pretended to cut up
her face with a knife then sucked a gun and put the gun somewhere I was glad I
couldn't see.
So we left.
Got to WTC, sat into he cold for 20 minutes waiting for the train. got back to
my car and found nothing horrible had happened. Dove home.
So yeah, now that I've terrified my family about my trips to
NY...
OK, so I'll get the pics up of the gates and the Device show soon. I'm
on my laptop now and the pics are on my PC. Oh, I think I need a new one
of those soon enough too.
OK, I'm out. I forgot to get new Brita filters, so all I have to drink
is tea and now I'm all sweaty. Just wanted to let you know.

There is always hope, only because that is the one thing no one has figured
out how to kill.
Wow, what a weekend. But, before I get to that, I'd like to thank
T&C for having me over Wed night. You guys rock! Anyway, Friday
Sean, Adrienne, Cindy and I went to QXTs
once more, where we met D-mo. That was much fun, I made my way down to
the stompy room and had a blast. We closed the place out and got home
around 4ish. Saturday was a very lazy day involving much lounging and
napping because that evening was Contempt.
Had much fun despite lingering soreness. Took a few
pics. Again closed the pace and
got home at 5:30am. Got woken up by and insane fuzzy thing and a wrong
number at 7:45am. Blah. but, actually managed to get things done
today. Did laundry and paid bills. Even made it out to Barnes and
Noble to pic up a wondrous tome entitled Active Directory for Microsoft
Windows Server 2003. After that watched Monster Squad, did the pic
fixing and posting and this update. Apparently I need less sleep in my
life.
Next month is uberbusy. Every Saturday is booked. Plus events have
been set in motion. Yup, it'll defiantly be interesting.
Here are some fuzzy pics

That's the thing she broke 5 minutes after I set it up. I have retied
it, but she broke it again.

She's mad at me for disturbing her in her fort.

How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't
even trust his own pants.
Two things to share today.
I've had this stuck in my
head for quite some time now.
And, I want more.

At last we meet again for the first time for the last time.
Um yeah, sorry about that. Been kinda lazy.
First off, had a great holiday. My family is very very generous.
I'm still catching up on DVDs.
On boxing day, I went out to a party in Brooklyn. Was a bit nervous
since I really didn't know anyone there, but had a great time once I got
there. Good food and interesting conversation (what is the definition of
evil anyway and does Bush fall under it?). Work was still busy during
this time with many upgrades going on. Then there was New Years Eve
which was at Tim's once again. That boy knows how to party. I was
actually wiped around 1:30 and split, bringing Li back here to crash.
New Years day involved going to indian buffet with Li, ROSS and Tom, then
returning and watching a movie without the Tom. I can't remember which
movie, though. Nope, thinking about it and can't recall. Oh yeah!
It was
Shaun of the Dead. Now that's a great movie!! I think that
Sunday I watched the
Battlestar Galactica miniseries with My dad. Or maybe it was the
following weekend. Blah, stoopit memory. I don't remember much
happening the next week, if I did something fun/cool with you, I apologize.
Oh, that Friday, the 7th that is, I went to
QXT's with a bunch of cool people and ran into KJ there, whom I haven't
seen in a few years. It's a great place and hopefully I'll get back
there someday. Last Friday, I dropped Myx off to get her claws and lady-parts
removed. That night, I watched the premier of Battlestar Galactica.
Damn this is going to be a good series. Nice to actually have an
outer-space Sci-fi show on TV once again. Picked Myx up on Saturday and
spend the day with her. Sunday saw
The House of Flying Daggers with Burke n Tom. Then went home cause I
was worried about the cat. Tom followed me because he was in my car.
We watched
American Splendor. Another great movie. Makes you feel better
about your life. Which brings us down to this weekend, which i am
spending snowed in my apartment. I'm thinking I should've gone out
somewhere last night, because this afternoon I was getting a little bored.
I alleviated said boredom by taking a nap.
This upcoming month is busy.
This saturday is Contempt.
Feb 5th is a party at Dr Atomic's
Feb 12th is D&D
Feb 26th is an Anathema Device
show.
Hopefully, it'll be a lot less time before I update this again. I assume
I will be taking pics at Contempt, so it shouldn't be. I'll try not be
be a Tom or Ed.
